Reviving an Old Family Tradition

No matter what we do and where we are on Sunday, it is imperative that we are home by 8 PM for our family’s Sunday dinner:

Sunday Night Dinner with thw FamBam

When my cousin, my siblings and I were still little, we used to have dinner at my grand mother’s house every night. This is during the time when we still live right beside each other. But the family is getting bigger and bigger as some of us got married, gone into a relationship and have kids. Also majority of us moved houses already that we live a little far from my grand mother’s house. Since then, the long family tradition has been discontinued.

But since we moved to our new home, we now have a much bigger space to entertain guests and my whole clan can now fit in our dining room. That is why when we had dinner one night at our place, my brother suggested to revive the old family tradition.

And that is what we did starting three Sundays ago. The rule is, no one should be absent during our Sunday dinner except for major reasons. That is why even if some of us are still wearing nurses uniforms, or we just got back from an out of town trip, or even after working overtime, we always make it a point that we will be home by 8 PM. Otherwise, the one who is absent will be shouldering the dinner expense for the next Sunday. LOL.

And everybody loved the idea as it is the perfect opportunity for the family to get together and catch up with the going ons in our lives since we don’t get to see each other everyday, unlike before. And hopefully, this will be a good childhood memory for the new generation of kids in our family.
